Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the firm commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
