A plane transporting the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The jet landed following established safety measures and all passengers, among them Pete Hegseth, is safe," a press officer commented in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This occurrence does not mark the initial instance that a American defense plane transporting a senior official has encountered mechanical issues.
