Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Update

Paramount Skydance will initiate mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, removing about 2,000 American roles under a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August with a value of $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are expected, as the firm intending to reveal full details in its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.

Prior news had indicated the company was looking to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.

As of December 2024, the organization had about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 temporary project employees.

The organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
