Throughout the movie, Charli embodies what she calls as a twisted version of her public image.
It’s the realest depiction of the music business that I’ve ever encountered, Charli stated.
She clarified in an interview: This isn’t a concert film, however the inspiration came from the demand to create one.
The debut trailer, unveiled on recently, mixes real clips from Charli’s Sweat tour with made-up backstage scenes.
The film is directed and co-written by Aidan Zamiri, who explained that the story centers on a reality where the artist opted for alternate decisions in the marketing of her hugely successful record Brat.
This project is a single one of numerous future movie projects for the star, who has featured in three festival films this year.
She also appeared as herself in the comedy series Overcompensating.
The following year will also feature the star alongside Olivia Wilde in romantic thriller I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in creative industry mystery The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in scary reboot Faces of Death.
She also signed on to appear in Dakota Johnson’s directorial debut A Tree in Blue.
I am really enjoying my foray into acting, she shared. I feel very, very inspired currently in this area, and I always choose to take on roles that stimulate me.
February will also bring the debut of the director’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which will include new music from the singer.
Additionally, she will compose the score for the drama Mother Mary, with Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released next year.
